Eat Free at Chef Point Cafe on New Year's Day

The Chef Point Cafe Turns Six and Gives Diners Free Meal Ticket

WATAUGA, TX, December 27, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- More than 50% percent of new restaurants close before they are four years old, so co-owners Chef Franson and Paula Nwaeze are proud to announce the Chef Point Cafe (http://www.chefpointcafe.org) will be turning six on January 1, 2009.

To celebrate, the Nwaeze's are inviting diners to feast on a New Year's Day buffet that includes several of the five star Fort Worth restaurant's most popular dishes: mouthwatering Chicken Marsala, delectable Blackened Catfish and the chef's signature Eggs Benedict. To see the other 17 items that will be on the Chef Point's buffet visit http://www.chefpointcafe.org/events.nxg.

The buffet will be open from 10 am until 2 pm and will be $17.99 for adults and $8.99 for children under 10. For every six tickets purchased, the Chef Point owners are giving a free buffet ticket. "We expect quite a few of our regulars will want a great New Year's Day meal without the fuss of cooking," said Chef Point Cafe business manager Paula Nwaeze.

"Most people don't expect to find gourmet food at a filling station, so we didn't know what customers would think of 'white tablecloth dining without the white table cloth' when we opened January 1, 2003," continued Mrs. Nwaeze. "Fortunately, so far, people like the idea of fine food in a unique and fun atmosphere."

In 2002, banks were not willing to lend start up capital to the restaurateurs because they lacked a track record. Undaunted, Chef Franson and Paula Nwaeze learned that they could, however, get a loan to buy a nearly completed Conoco station with a convenience store. They achieved their dream of restaurant ownership by adding a gourmet kitchen and some tables in part of the C-store space. Before long, the restaurant was generating positive customer comments and most of the start-up's revenue.

"We're very proud of six years of steady growth and of the loyalty of our customers," said Chef Franson. Chef Franson received his culinary training at 5-star restaurants and Country Clubs in Oklahoma. His culinary success has come from his passion for preparing unique and delicious gourmet dishes. His culinary creations have received rave reviews from The Star Telegram. The restaurant also has been featured recently in Cooking with Paula Dean, in the Fort Worth Weekly and on National Public Radio.
