About Food For Free
Food For Free responds to local hunger by rescuing fresh food that might otherwise go to waste and distributing it within the emergency food system, where it can reach those in need.

Each month, Food For Free's Produce Rescue program distributes fresh fruits and vegetables to 55 food programs that collectively serve about 20,000 individuals. Programs served include food pantries, emergency shelters, meal programs, clinics and youth centers. Food For Free distributed 838,000 pounds of food in 2008.

Food For Free's other programs are Home Delivery, which provides monthly deliveries of food to low-income seniors and people with disabilities, and Field of Greens, which grows organic vegetables for distribution to emergency food programs.

Food For Free is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
