Toys For Tots has a Partner in Layton-Local Dentist is Official Drop-Off Site for Charitable Cause

Local dentist Terry Preece is opening the doors of his Layton Hills Healthy Smile Center to the Toys for Tots foundation this year. Every person who donates a toy valued at $20 or more will have a chance to win a free Rota-dent spinning brush (a $100 value).

/24-7PressRelease/ - LAYTON, UT, December 01, 2005 — Since 1947 the Unites States Marine Corps Reserves has distributed toys to underprivileged children across the nation. This year, local dentist Terry Preece is lending a helping hand to the Toys for Tots program by not only turning his office into an official drop off site, but by offering a free gift to those who donate.

The Layton Hills Healthy Smile Center will enter every person who donates a toy valued at $20 or more into a raffle for a free Rota-dent spinning brush.

"I'm just happy to be able to help any way I can," Preece said. "Every child deserves a Christmas-every single one."

Preece said he hopes to fill at least the two boxes in his waiting area by December 20.

The first Toys for Tots campaign of 1947 distributed 5,000 toys to children in Los Angeles, California. In 2004, 57 years later, marines distributed 19 million toys to 7.5 million needy children in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

"I think it's a wonderful cause and I believe the community will rise to the occasion," said Preece. "No child should be without a reason to smile this holiday season."

Preece also said the office staff is sponsoring a local family in a "Sub for Santa" program, another program designed to help whole families within the community during the holiday season.

The Healthy Smile Center can only accept new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation. Located at 2152 North Hill Field Road, Suite 2, in Layton, the Healthy Smile Center will accept toy donations from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday until December 20.
