CARLSBAD, NM, April 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the goal to create 300 new jobs, the Carlsbad Department of Development welcomes Carbon Diversion, Inc. to the City of Carlsbad, New Mexico. The official groundbreaking is scheduled for April 28, 2009 at the Carbon Diversion site location in the Carlsbad Airport Industrial Park.

Carbon Diversion Incorporated, a leader in waste conversion technologies, utilizes a stringent selection process to secure a "best benefit" combination, of "waste to carbon bioproducts" to reduce and or eliminate the waste problem plaguing the world.

"Carbon Diversion produces equipment that in itself is an amazing process," said John Waters, Executive Director of the Carlsbad Department of Development. "We toured their prototype facility in Hawaii to learn more about the company and units it would be manufacturing in this proposed assembly plant. We were very impressed with the operations and the technology for the clean conversion of solid waste and green waste into carbon. The Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) is very proud to have Carbon Diversion, Inc join our business community." The Board of Directors of the CDOD felt the positive economic impact to the area would be tremendous and assisted Carbon Diversion with acquiring suitable property for their manufacturing plant. Carbon Diversion's Carlsbad operations will fabricate the components for their "flash carbonization" system, a process that takes "green" waste, tires, and municipal solid waste and turns it into biofuel, electricity and/or pure carbon.

Carlsbad, NM will be the first and primary manufacturing location for Carbon Diversion, Inc. on the continental United States. With the amount of focus on "green technology" and the potential to create hundreds of new jobs, the Mayor of Carlsbad, City Councilors and Eddy County Commissioners are very excited to be selected as the site location. Carbon Diversion, Inc will have the first phase of manufacturing operational in early 2010.

The Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) is a private non-profit agency incorporated as a 501(c)(6) organization in 1966. The membership of the CDOD represents over 100 chief executive officers in industry, business and finance, the City of Carlsbad, Eddy County Board of Commissioners, New Mexico State University-Carlsbad, and the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. The goal of the CDOD is to promote the economic and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Carlsbad and South Eddy County through job retention and creation by recruiting new industry, identifying new job opportunities, expanding and retaining existing business and diversifying our economy.
