Cutler, reported in the August 26th issue of the South Florida Business Journal that seventeen percent (17%) of caregivers quit their jobs to provide care for aging family members, and another 15% reduce their work hours to assist their loved ones. Cutler noted that this shocking loss of employee productivity is hitting South Florida businesses very hard as more Boomers have senior parents who require caregiving.
According to Olga Brunner, founder of A Good Daughter, Inc., (www.agooddaughter.com) there are so many concerns as people trying to juggle work and the needs of elderly family members. "Many caregivers simply cannot maintain the workload and provide the daily, sometimes hourly needs, of elderly parents and family members.
