A New Online Service Allows Access to Newspaper Articles in All Their Display Glory

Clipsearch is a new service that offers PR professionals access to the Newspaper Licensing Agency's database of newspapers for less than the cost of their morning coffee - and there's even a free trial to test out the service.

    LONDON, ENGLAND, October 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The challenge
There's a pitch to be completed. A copy of a newspaper article from two years ago would really make the presentation stand out from the competition. But the local library doesn't carry it. Your press cuttings agency can produce the content but not its context. The client is slipping through your busy fingers...

...or perhaps your client is desperate to find out more about a specific journalist. They need to find out how often their newspaper articles appear and just what profile they receive in the newspaper. And they need it NOW.

But there is a solution
Clipsearch carries more than nine million articles dating back to January 2006 from 140 national and regional titles, stretching from Aberdeen Evening Express to the Yorkshire Post.

The articles are held in their entirety with all the associated photographs and headlines. It is even possible to see the article as it appeared in the newspaper, from the first edition to the final version. Articles become available three days after publication.

The service, which is evolving all the time, offers a one-stop shop for companies searching for cuttings. It is fast and easy to use. A Clip view focuses on the article, while the Page view shows the entire page it was on, allowing users to see the article in its full context.

It is possible to search by keywords in the title or whole article, search by author name or browse articles on a specific page and date.

All searches can be saved, and there is even an alert service that informs you when new content matching your search criteria enters the database.

Users can search for free with unlimited access. When articles of interest are found, simply sign up for one of two payment options. There is a pay-as-you-go service or a time-based service. Both use a credit system, which cost between GBP1 and GBP2 to buy depending on how many are purchased. A Clip view costs one credit and a Page view costs two. Larger companies can even share credits across multiple users.

More than 900 users have already discovered the value of Clipsearch. Don't let one of them be your competition!
