We've all been there. Just days before a big event - a loved one's birthday, a holiday - and we still haven't found that perfect gift. Or, maybe we are searching for an item for ourselves. We inevitably turn to the internet and its army of product review sites to lend some guidance. This new site has a very simple concept - It gives what it calls product review spotlights that are generally limited to three or four items for a given product category. The real estate given for these reviews is normally a single page providing links to additional products that may alternatively be of interest to their visitors. What is refreshing about their approach is the simplicity and speed of their site. These guys really know what they're doing!
In addition to product spotlights, eReviewsPlus.com provides links to thousands of other items related to the spotlighted product comparisons. It does this while not creating the typical maze effect often found on similar review sites. And they do not bombard you with other ads or pop-ups. Simplicity is their theme providing you a pleasant, no-nonsense shopping experience. You can even suggest product comparisons of interest providing a new twist to the personal shopper theme.
The layout of the site is straight forward. The main page states its purpose, and a side menu bar provides links to featured products. Each featured product page has a similar look and feel, with full graphics and text to describe the product or services. Anchors at the top of the page keep you grounded as you navigate through the different product listings.
The site states up front that it is focused on consumer trends, basically hot products. So if you're looking for a vintage 1970 Schwinn ten-speed bicycle this site may not be for you. The exact criteria used by the site to pick its products are probably held close to the vest by its owners. Whatever the formula, the mix of products seems to satisfy the eReviewPlus.com product selection goals.
It's apparent that even with the thousands of products it exposes eReviewsPlus.com's current focus is primarily in the eBook and software product arena, although it does have some consumer electronics in the mix as well. We believe that as the company continues to grow they will no doubt expand their product comparisons to include consumer electronics and more - nothing is out of scope!
To the many hundreds or thousands of product review sites out there, make room for the new kid on the block. eReviewsPlus.com looks like a keeper!
