A Quarter Of Completes Infographic Guide to the Most Peculiar Sweets Of All Time!

When it comes to confectionary and sweet treats we've all got our favourites: whether it's a tasty chocolate bar, a fruit chew, a super sour sweetie, liquorice, toffee.... we've all got our own idea on what constitutes the perfect sweet.

BLACKBURN, ENGLAND, November 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Occasionally, though, somebody somewhere will create something that is so divisive, so hard to get our heads around, that they will instantly be classed as fools. It is those wacky flavour combinations that have us shaking our heads in disbelief. "You can't put ham and pineapple together!" the naysayers used to cry, yet now it is one of the most popular pizza toppings around.

Similarly, take a look at the example of chilli chocolate: at first, people thought that you'd have to be bonkers to enjoy that as a flavour combination. And yet now it features on the menus of Michelin starred restaurants. It really is amazing how people's tastes can change.

So on a similar note, the guys and girls at A Quarter Of decided to undertake their own bit of detective work to uncover some of the most peculiar and downright bizarre sweets and confectionaries that are available around the world. The results, in some cases, are staggering...

Bacon Bonanza

Without giving too much away (spoiler alert), have you ever thought about unwrapping a bacon flavoured sweet? No, thought not. How about a "chocolate sausage"? Perhaps not.

You can enjoy these, and many more, in A Quarter Of's Infographic of some of the most unusual sweets ever made. Be prepared to be amazed! You may even have your mind opened.... but it is unlikely that any of the sweets listed would ever make their way into your pick & mix bag, put it that way.

Who Are A Quarter Of?

They are ideally placed to produce such an infographic, that's for sure. A Quarter Of has been at the forefront of the retro sweets industry in the UK for a number of years now, selling thousands of bags of traditional classics to customers up and down the country and across the globe.

The company was founded following an evening spent discussing those classic sweets you used to get from your local sweet shop as a kid. Back then, enjoying a bag of penny mix was seen as a treat, rather than an everyday reality.

Tastes have changed of course, they always do, but some things remain timeless - and that is certainly the case with the treats that A Quarter Of sell. Flying Saucers, Rhubarb & Custards and Fruit Salads remain as popular today as they did in their supposed heyday of yesteryear.
