/24-7PressRelease/ - ST. LOUIS, MO, December 15, 2007 - The Renaissance St. Louis Grand & Suites Hotel is now offering luxurious rooms and downtown St. Louis suites to travelers coming to see the musical, Wicked, on stage now until January 6, 2008.

Wicked is the Tony award-winning American musical, produced by Universal Pictures with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (of Godspell, Pippin, and Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt), and a book by Winnie Holzman. The tale is loosely based on the best-selling novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, which is a revamped version of L. Frank Baum's classic story, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

The acclaimed musical follows the stories of Glinda and Elphaba, two young witches who eventually become the Good Witch of the North and the Wicked Witch of the West. It is a story of two girls meeting in the land of Oz, one born with emerald green skin that is smart, fiery and misunderstood, while the other is beautiful, ambitious and popular. The musical is done from their point of view and is set prior to Dorothy's arrival from Kansas to the famous Oz.
