LONDON, ENGLAND, August 27, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The only African travel specialist to offer camping overland expeditions exclusively for travellers aged from 18 to 39 years, Acacia Africa is currently in the running to win the award for Best Youth Tour Operator in WYSTC's Global Youth Travel Awards. A second nomination, Acacia has also been recognised by the British Travel Awards as a contender for the 2015 Best Escorted Adventure Holidays Company award. Both awards will be judged on the number of votes from previous travellers and Acacia Africa is asking its loyal fans to show their support.

Arno Delport, Sales & Marketing Manager at Acacia Africa comments. "We are very excited about these two awards, but as the only African youth focused operator to receive a nomination in the Global Youth Travel Awards, this is a major milestone for everyone on the team including our tour leaders who do an outstanding job on the ground. We appreciate each and every vote and in return for support from our previous travellers we pledge to keep doing what we do best: ensuring our tours are of the best standard and exceeding the expectations of everyone who travels with Acacia."

The Global Youth Travel Awards (GYTAs) formally recognise outstanding performers in 14 fields of international youth travel and they reward WYSE Travel Confederation members and other stakeholders in the youth, student and educational travel industry who make an outstanding contribution to the industry.

An online form is available on the Global Youth Travel Awards website and adventurers can also spread awareness on Twitter after casting their vote using the #GYTA2015 hashtag. The deadline for voting is 31 August.

The WYSTC annual conference and award ceremony will be held in Cape Town, the event running from 20 to 27 September.

Acacia Africa is also honoured to be recognised by the British Travel Awards as a contender for the 2015 Best Escorted Adventure Holidays Company award.

The British Travel Awards is the largest consumer voted program in the UK.  Last year more than 1.25 million votes were cast to determine the winners and to receive a BTA is a true accolade, with the awards being recognised by the travelling public as the benchmark for excellence.

Travellers can also alert other adventurers who have travelled with Acacia to the awards by using the hashtag #votebta15. Every vote will be entered into the British Travel Awards prize draw.
