McDonald will be practicing from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast, and will be based in the Brisbane area with a focus on Bayside and South East Queensland.
Prior to becoming an ActionCOACH Business Coach, McDonald ran a small consulting business dealing in mid-range accounting and business software.
"I sold specific types of software to these businesses for 12 years and offered training and support," he said.
McDonald's consulting business grew very quickly, making him the Software (Jiwa) Dealer of the Year in 2007.
His consulting business covered a broad range of industries including technology, wholesale and distribution, manufacturing, health and professional services.
"I successfully implemented software in brand name companies in both Sydney and Brisbane," he said.
McDonald heard of ActionCOACH when he was watching the Small Business Show on TV while working during the early hours of a Sunday morning.
"I guess it hit a nerve when I saw the interview of an ActionCOACH representative on this show. While I was working away in my own small business at 7am on a Sunday morning, I knew there was a better way to do things- I just didn't know how," he said.
The following day McDonald called a local ActionCOACH and has not looked back since.
Being coached for two years in his own business, McDonald realized that though he enjoyed his business, he was destined to become a coach.
"I loved what my ActionCOACH had done for me and having been in the consulting business myself for over a decade, I knew I could do the same for other business owners.
Having received impactful coaching from ActionCOACH for his own business, McDonald soon became a raving fan of the company.
"My coach was able to give me the motivation I required and the coaching ended up paying for itself in two months," he said.
McDonald is excited about the learning and experience that await him in his new role as an ActionCOACH.
