Adrienne 'Adie' Fuchs retired after a 24-year career in special education

    GLENVIEW, IL, November 6, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Adrienne 'Adie' Fuchs, Substitute Teacher and Tutor, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

As a substitute teacher and tutor, Ms. Fuchs is responsible for teaching special education students in all grades and subjects, instructing English as a second language for foreign students and assisting emotionally and socially maladjusted students in their learning skills. Previously, she was a special education teacher for 24 years before retiring and also worked in a nursery school. She attributes her success to her desire to see her students' progress.

Ms. Fuchs is pursuing her Ph.D. at Northeastern Illinois University, from which she received her master's degree in guidance counseling. She is a former president of the Chicago Council for Exceptional Children, the Pioneer Division of the Illinois Council of Exceptional Children and the Mental Retardation Organization of Illinois. She hopes to continue tutoring as well as volunteering for the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
