ORLANDO, FL, September 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After Hours Pediatrics Urgent Care (www.afterhourspediatrics.com) was named Clinic of the Month by the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM), the leading society for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners practicing Urgent Care Medicine. The distinction was awarded for the month of August 2010, based on After Hours Pediatrics' community awards program for children, Every Child Makes A Difference, which acknowledges and rewards young heroes that have made exceptional contributions in the community.

"The AAUCM showcases clinics that demonstrate they are exceptional or outstanding in some way, and have something new and exciting going on that sets their clinic apart," said Cari Withrow, AAUCM Administrator.

Every Child Makes A Difference (www.everychildmakesadifference.com) invites adults in the community to nominate "Young Heroes with Big Hearts" who have reached out in some way to help others. Through the awards program, these amazing kids will be publicly acknowledged for their contributions and rewarded with an extraordinary prize package made possible by community partners. Awards will be announced twice a year in both the 5-11 and 12-21 year age brackets, in each of the markets After Hours Pediatrics serves: Tampa, Orlando and South Florida. Twelve regional winners will be honored at a grand awards gala in Summer 2011.

"Caring for children is our passion, and we are excited to extend this passion into the community by recognizing amazing kids who are reaching out to help others - and are making a difference," said Jason North, Executive Director, After Hours Pediatrics Urgent Care.

After Hours Pediatrics provides board-certified pediatric urgent care to children, newborn through 21 years, with 12 site locations in Tampa, Orlando and South Florida.
