AIM Marketing's Top 7 Start-up Tips for Female Entrepreneurs

Managing Director, Brenda Aguilar, of newly established AIM Marketing Acquisitions offers her top business start-up tips to fellow females who are considering pursuing entrepreneurship.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, September 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- AIM Marketing Acquisitions is an outsourced firm based in Sydney that offers a full direct marketing service for their clients. This includes planning, staffing, training, implementation and evaluation. Ultimately the firm aims to improve their clients brand awareness, customer acquisition and brand loyalty. They do this by connecting with customers on a face-to-face basis in order to create long-lasting and personal relationships between brand and consumer.

Earlier this year AIM Marketing Acquisitions was delighted when Australia was ranked as the world's second best place to be a female entrepreneur. AIM Marketing Acquisitions points out that Australia has many favourable conditions and that there is currently a really strong community of women who are starting their own businesses. There is a really exciting start-up culture in Australia at the moment and women have access to great networks and great role models who have already led the way to successful entrepreneurship. The Australian economy is currently very strong which is also helpful for entrepreneurs to succeed.

But despite all these great conditions the number of female entrepreneurs is still lower than the number of male entrepreneurs. AIM Marketing Acquisitions' Managing Director, Brenda Aguilar has offered her top tips to fellow females who are looking to start a business and pursue entrepreneurship.

Build a network before building a business.
To truly succeed at entrepreneurship, don't wait until after handing in a resignation letter to start working on a business. No matter what their current professions is, women must be active in building relationships with potential partners, investors and clients by networking consistently. They never know who could help them in the future.

Understand "why."
Women should be clear on why they want to start their own business and make sure they are passionate about it. Starting from scratch is hard, time-consuming and daunting. If they're not passionate about it now, they never will be and that won't push them through their inevitable challenges. If they have a true desire to deliver a new product or service in a way no one else is doing, they'll work harder, pursue further and push stronger.

Make a plan.
While passion is essential to the long-term success of the business, people can't grow a business on hopes and dreams alone. Develop a sustainable business plan that makes every detail of the company clear, with real financial projection based on accurate market research. If they have a clear vision about what they want to achieve and realistic goals set, they are more likely to turn their vision into a reality.

Be tough skinned.
When starting a business, it gets pretty personal pretty fast. New business owners will have to change most things in their life, professionally and personally. The job isn't easy and it requires a thick skin and an all-star work ethic to ride it out. Professional fortitude can also combat subtle gender biases that could stand in a woman's way.

Look after the pennies.
Women must fight to keep their business on a small budget and seek new ways to build revenue and grow their business for the long term. Don't wait to check the figures either. New business owners don't want to be thousands of dollars in the red before they realise they need outside funding.

Overcome fear of failure.
Experts say that female entrepreneurs are more afraid of failure than their male counterparts. But the potential for failure or success heavily depends on the confidence and preparedness. Put aside fears and be confident.

Ask for help.
Seek out networks and organizations that support new ventures. Many organizations have programs for women entrepreneurs, which can be a great source for resources, networking and support.
