    VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, December 09, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- AKVIS announces the release of AKVIS Enhancer v.11 for Windows and Macintosh. The program can improve detail on an image, no matter what caused the unsharpness - poor/excessive lighting, motion or bad focusing. This version supports the Smart Filter technology in Adobe Photoshop CS3/CS4.

AKVIS Enhancer is image enhancement software that helps you improve detail in photos no matter what caused the problem: poor/excessive lighting, motion or poor focus.

The software provides four modes that can treat each problem separately:

In Enhancer mode the program brings out details on one single shot by intensifying color transition. The tool is useful in cases when a photo has an uneven exposure. For example, when a picture has been taken against the light source and consequently the objects on the foreground are hardly discernible, which is especially annoying when you take a picture of a person. Or when a photo lacks dramatic effect due to vagueness of the scene.

Focus mode improves blurred images by bringing into focus the whole image or only certain parts of it. It happens when the camera fails to focus on the object being shot, and the photo comes out fuzzy. This mode can rescue such out-of-focus images. The mode offers several presets that are recommended for the first acquaintance with the program. Read the hints to the parameters to understand how it works and create your own presets if needed.

Smart Correction mode improves images through tone correction, by correcting the brightness of points in the light and dark areas. As a result the overall impression of the image improves considerably. Changes can be made to the entire image or to a part of the image depending on the colors selected for correction.

The HDR mode is only available in the Standalone version of Enhancer. The HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) technology expands the dynamic range of an image and shows details in both shadows and highlights. Note that you will need several shots of the same scene to generate one HDR-image. But the result is impressive.

This version of Enhancer is compatible with the Smart Filter technology in Photoshop CS3-CS4.
A Smart Filter is more flexible than a standard one, it can be modified and even removed any time during the processing of the photo, while a standard filter, once applied, can not be edited anymore.

Also new to AKVIS Enhancer 11:
A redesigned interface;
Support for 64 bit has been added to the plug-in version (now compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS4 64 bit);
Now compatible with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8;
Compatibility with OS Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) and Windows 7 has been added;
A new installation program on Windows;
Portuguese language interface.

For a free trial, AKVIS offers 10 days of fully functional use _http://akvis.com/en/enhancer/download-photo-enhancement.php_.
