According to a new report Parramatta 2021 from PricewaterhouseCoopers, the city's economy is set to grow by 30% to $30 billion, by 2021. Speaking about the predicted growth, City of Parramatta Interim General Manager Greg Dyer said, "Over the next five years, the Parramatta CBD will grow to be one-third larger than it is today and the retail sector is expected to reap the benefits of this growth, with an additional $3 billion in turnover estimated during that period."

Physically, Parramatta has grown by 36% as more residential towers - a number of which are taller than those in the Sydney CBD - and commercial spaces like Parramatta Square fill the city. The city's population is also projected to grow by 41,000 over the next five years.
