Alexander Vedenin Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Figure Skating Instruction

Mr. Vedenin has parlayed his experience as an International Skating Champion into a career as an Olympic Figure Skating Coach



    WHEELING, ILLINOIS, May 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexander Vedenin, a world and Olympic figure skating coach in private practice, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in figure skating instruction.

After several years as a skater on the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics' National Team, Mr. Vedenin went on to an accomplished career in figure skating instruction — he has since gained 35 years of experience. His areas of expertise include coaching skaters and preparing them for national and international competitions, teaching training methods and techniques for figure skating, conducting regional, national and international level development programs, conducting seminars and training camps for coaches and skaters, developing figure skating programs in various countries, and delivering public speeches. Prior to starting a private practice, Mr. Vedenin was the respected head coach of the USSR Figure Skating National Team for 15 years; head coach for the Bavarian Ice Sports Federation in Germany for six years; vice president of the European Professional Coaches Association for six years; and head coach for various international summer schools for 10 years.

His extensive education, experience working in a team with world experts, and people management skills have all contributed to Mr. Vedenin's success. He has served as an international judge and referee for figure skating, and has also been the judge for European championships, For the past ten years, he has participated in the International Skating Union's development programs and guided seminars and master class training camps in more than 10 countries. The highlights of his career include twice-winning USSR championship titles as a skater and being the head coach guiding the USSR team to several victories at world championships and Olympic games.

Mr. Vedenin received a master's degree in sport science from Moscow State Sport Academy in Russia. He is a member of the North American Professional Skaters Association. He was vice president of the European Professional Skating Coaches Association.
