An attorney with more than 35 years of experience, Ms. Morgenthaler is the founder of the Morgenthaler Law Group, Inc. Located in Los Angeles, her firm provides legal counsel for clients in all areas of business litigation, including entertainment litigation, intellectual property litigation, class actions, construction litigation, creditor/debtor rights, banking and insurance coverage, among others.
Passing the New York Bar in 1986, the D.C. Bar in 1988, and the California State Bar in 1990, Ms. Morgenthaler's experience began in 1981 while working as a law clerk for the City of Springfield, Missouri, not far from where she grew up. Landing her first role as an attorney for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., she transitioned into becoming an associate attorney for the international law firm of K & L Gates (then Kirkpatrick & Lockhart) in its Washington, D.C. office within just a few years. Later, she worked at the large wall-street law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in its Washington, D.C. office.
In 1989, Ms. Morgenthaler was recruited to join the Los Angeles law firm now known as Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen & Shapiro, LLC, a full-service law firm in Los Angeles known for its powerhouse litigation practice. She became a partner in the firm in 2001. After gaining a tremendous amount of experience at Glaser, Weil, Ms. Morgenthaler founded her own firm, Morgenthaler Law Group, Inc., in 2011, very confident in her abilities and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Today, her firm continues to gain speed as she builds a reputation that has been built on exceptional service and results.
Contributing her good fortune and expertise to serving her community, Ms. Morgenthaler is a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Residential Citizens Foundation, an organization that owns and operates a residential community for disabled adults, the South Brentwood Residents Association and the Mayfield Gardens Townhomes Association. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Malibu Riviera III Homeowners Association and the 3019 Third Street Owners' Association. She also remains active with numerous professional organizations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where she served on the Judicial Appointments Committee, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Century City Bar Association, where she served on the Board of Directors, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, where she served on the Board of Directors, and the California State Bar Association, where she served on the Committee on Administration of Justice.
Ms. Morgenthaler's success has been documented and recognized numerous times. She has received the highest A-V rating by Martindale-Hubbell, including its Judicial Edition, every year since 2002, and has been listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers every year since the publication's founding in 2011. She has been named one of Southern California's "Super Lawyers" every year since 2006, one of the "Top 50 Women Lawyers" in Southern California for 2007, 2009, and 2010, and has been highlighted in dozens of issues of Who's Who, to include Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in American Law, to name a few. Completing a bachelor's degree at Missouri State University in 1982, Ms. Morgenthaler then completed a JD at the prestigious Cornell University in 1985.
