AMA FLAT TRACK RACE JULY 19 AT AONIA PASS MX PARK
Atlanta Motorcycle Club announces an American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned Amateur Flat Track race at Aonia Pass MX Park in Washington Georgia on July 19, 2008.

    /24-7PressRelease/ - MARIETTA, GA, July 17, 2008 - One of the most traditional forms of motorcycle competition in the U.S., flat-track racing grew from the age when riders would compete on county fair horse tracks groomed to provide a hard-packed surface.

Dirt trackers will race on Aonia Pass' highly regarded ¼ mile oval track - complete with new lighting for night racing. Dirt track classes will include AMA 50cc Jr (ages 4 - 6), 50cc Jr (ages 4 - 8), 65cc, 85cc, 70 - 25cc (4 stroke), 0 - 200, 201 - 250, MX Mini 85 - 125 (knobbies), MX Open 126 - Open (knobbies), Open Novice, Vet (30+) 201 - Open, Senior (40+) 201 - Open, Super Sr (50+) 201 - Open, Vintage 250, Vintage Open 251 - Open, Open Amateur, Pro Am, and Open Pro. (Pro & Pro Am classes feature 100% payback.)

American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) dirt track classes, paying AHRMA Southeast Region points, will run as support classes.

An AHRMA Southeast Region trials event will be held in conjunction with the dirt track event.
Track gates will open at 8:00AM. Trials sign-up will open at 9:00AM, and competition will start at 10:00AM. Dirt track sign-up starts at 3:00, practice starts at 5:00, and racing starts at 7:00PM. All riders must be AMA members. Primitive camping is available.

Aonia Pass Motocross Park is a 600 acre facility located on US Highway 78. It is 5 miles south of Washington, GA and 15 miles north of I-20 Exit 172 (the Thomson, GA exit).
