/24-7PressRelease/ -- Amadeus Consulting is proud to introduce Speed Bag: Urban Gym, a life-like speed bag application for the iPhone . Marc Polett, the founder and owner of Manayunk Productions, and an avid boxer, wanted to break into the iPhone application market with a speed bag simulator. He came to Amadeus Consulting to develop Speed Bag, as part of his Urban Gym line of iPhone applications. He chose Amadeus Consulting in a bid process as his development partner because of the company's extensive iPhone capabilities as well as being able to turn the project around quickly and within scope.
Marc had seen other speed bag iPhone applications, but felt that they lacked fun, the experience and necessary motion of an actual speed bag. He charged Amadeus Consulting with the task of creating a custom application that incorporated better movement, different objectives and a better scoring mechanism.
"With the help of Amadeus Consulting, Inc., I feel we have not only recreated the exact feel and atmosphere associated with going up against a speed bag, but have also created a fun game that will introduce new fans to the sport of boxing," said Marc Polett.
Amadeus Consulting created Speed Bag as part of the Urban Gym series of iPhone applications from Manayunk Productions. Its skilled team of iPhone developers leveraged their objective and the iPhone SDK (software development kit) skills to build the application to exceed Marc's expectations.
Amadeus Consulting's graphics team was heavily involved in this project, having assisted with not only the realistic look and feel, but also the movement functionality. Unlike other speed bag applications, the version Manayunk wanted features 360°movement, a 3D speed bag and a scoring system that accounts for an overall point total as well as strike accuracy. The more accurate the strike, the more points a player earns.
Additionally, Amadeus Consulting helped Marc Polett and Manayunk Productions submit Speed Bag: Urban Gym to the App Store. The process includes a heavy upfront Quality Assurance testing, and an application for review and approval from the App Review Team, who demo each application before acceptance. As a result of the different features, technologies and capabilities of iPhone applications, the review and approval time vary for each app. Amadeus Consulting had thoroughly tested Speed Bag: Urban Gym, which shortened approval time.
Speed Bag: Urban Gym was successfully deployed in late October 2009. Amadeus Consulting looks forward to developing more applications with Manayunk Productions.
