Amblyotech Acquires Worldwide Rights to a Patented Treatment for Amblyopia from McGill University

Clinical trials indicate the smartphone/tablet application has positive treatment results with pediatric and adult amblyopia patients.

(Atlanta, GA) and McGill University (Montreal, Canada) are pleased to announce the signing of a license agreement for the world-wide rights to an electronic application for the treatment of amblyopia. Invented by Dr. Robert Hess, a Professor at McGill University and Director of the McGill Vision Research Unit, this treatment is a breakthrough for individuals who suffer from this ocular condition.

"This technology is a patented electronic application that, when used with a smartphone or tablet, dramatically improves the visual acuity of individuals who suffer with amblyopia, also known as lazy eye. Amblyopia affects up to 3% of children internationally and, if unsuccessfully treated, is a leading cause of blindness in adults. Currently these patients have few treatment options.
