NEW YORK, NY, October 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The American Health Council is proud to appoint Jana Call, MSN, BA, FNP-C to its Nursing Board. Born and raised in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Call launched her career as a healthcare professional before returning to her hometown to work as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Director of RedMed Urgent Care. Her eight years of experience in the health care industry have been defined by a motivation to improve the lives of others. Call considers it a privilege to provide care to those in her home community while still advancing her nursing career.

As the oldest of her siblings, Call began fostering her talent as a caretaker at an early age. She developed an interest in psychology while in high school and went on to earn a BA in Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 2007. During her time as an undergraduate student, a family crisis shifted Call's passion towards nursing. She pursued an Associate Degree in Nursing from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi and later completed her education with a MSN from The University of Mississippi Medical Center, graduating with honors in 2013. Call has received several honors for her exceptional clinical abilities, including the Patricia Dyre Scholarship through UMMC as well as membership in the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Upon graduating with her BSN, Call began practicing with medical group RedMed LLC in 2013 and now oversees the practice as Clinical Director. On top of ensuring the clinic continues to provide quality services to patients efficiently and effectively, Call diagnoses individual patients and faces diverse illnesses in an urgent care setting. Her strong leadership ensures staff members and LPNs can provide the highest quality care. Call takes pride in her ability to help others and hopes to continue fostering her expert management skills and advanced clinical knowledge over the next five years. Toward this end, she plans on earning her DNP to further develop her nursing expertise and explore her interest in pioneering medical virology and microbiology.

Call attributes her professional success to the support of her husband Jamie and integrity cultivated by her family-oriented upbringing. A testament to Call's passion for helping others, she donates regularly to St. Jude Children's Hospital. When Call isn't enjoying time with her husband and five children, she enjoys reading mystery or sci-fi novels and cheering on the Denver Broncos.
