/Cambridge Who's Who/ --Ampai D. Aimsiri, Traveling Lecturer and Staff Nurse for the Perioperative Department of Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare education.
Dr. Aimsiri has an impressive 43 years of professional experience, eight of which she has spent in her current position. Her expertise lies in nursing in the areas of critical care, perianesthesia and post-operative care. At her post, she is responsible for care and pain management of post-operative patients. The most gratifying aspects of her career are helping nurses in other countries and developing her skills and knowledge in pain management and critical care nursing. Hard work, dedication, perseverance, and her desire to help others are the driving forces behind her success.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center, Dr. Aimsiri held various positions at Loma Linda University Medical Center. From 1990 to 1998, she worked as a preceptor, shift coordinator, team leader, and clinical nurse in the perianesthesia care unit. She also served as director of nursing at Youngberg Adventist Hospital in Singapore as well as the chairwoman of a basic science department. Additionally, she was a nursing educator and associate dean of women at the Bangkok Adventist Hospital School of Nursing.
Dr. Aimsiri earned a DrPH in public health nutrition and a master of science in biochemistry from Loma Linda University. She holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from Philippine Union College, now the Adventist University of the Philippines, and an associate of science in nursing, public health and midwifery from the School of Nursing at Bangkok Sanitarium and Hospital. She is a registered nurse in California, the Republic of Singapore and Bangkok, and holds a certification in high-risk neonatal care from the Loma Linda University Medical Center. She is also a registered dietitian, a certified critical care registered nurse and a registered midwife.
Dr. Aimsiri has been a guest lecturer and teacher in China, Singapore, Bangkok, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. She is fluent in English, Thai and Chinese. Dr. Aimsiri was named Cambridge Publishing's "Professional of the Year in Healthcare Education" for the year 2009 for her invaluable contributions to her field.
