    NAPA, CA, July 9, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Ana M. Kowalkowska, Professor for Napa Valley College and Napa Valley Adult School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in adult education.

Ms. Kowalkowska has 30 years of experience as an educator. Since 1994, she has lent her talents to Napa Valley College and Napa Valley Adult School, through which she teaches college classes and basic adult education to residents of a mental institution. Additionally, Ms. Kowalkowska works offsite for Napa State Hospital and participates actively in the Spanish-speaking community. As a teacher, she considers watching her pupils grasp new concepts to be the most rewarding aspect of what she does. She attributes her success to her parents, who instilled in her the value of self-determination and taught her that she can achieve anything that she sets her mind to.

A product of New College of California School of Law, Ms. Kowalkowska received her Ph.D. in Law in 1984. She also earned a Master of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, with a concentration in Latin American History, both from San Francisco State University. She is affiliated with the Migrant Education Program. Away from work, Ms. Kowalkowska mounts shows as a semi-professional photographer and travels widely for personal enrichment. She aspires to develop curricula that will increase focus and learning among adult students.
