Anchor Vans reports increased LPG van sales due to rising fuel prices and cost of London congestion charge during recession
Anchor Vans, Berkshire's leading used van vendor, reports an increase in sales of petrol LPG vans, as a result of recent rises in fuel prices and the need to save money spent on the London congestion charge

PADWORTH, ENGLAND, October 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anchor Vans, one of the leading vendors of used vans in the UK, has reported a significant increase in the sales of petrol LPG vans in recent months. Two factors are believed to have caused this rise in sales; the pressure of the London congestion charge during a recession and also the recent rise in fuel prices. For more information call 0118 9710 230 or go to http://www.anchorvans.co.uk.

"The rise in sales of duel fuel vans has been quite remarkable over the last few months," commented Simon Joyce, Sales Director of Anchor Vans. "Whilst there are clear environmental benefits involved in driving a low emission vehicle, I think the primary reason behind this trend is the need to save money. Fuel prices have been creeping back up lately, and have stayed relatively high since the oil price rocketed a year ago, so that's one major motivator. I think the other reason is that businesses using commercial vehicles to make deliveries within the London congestion charge zone are looking for ways to save money during the recession. As duel fuel vehicles with low emissions are exempt, it can save a lot of money."

"Anchor Vans recently launched a micro site dedicated to Ford vans at http://www.anchorford.co.uk, and we have seen a lot of searches specifically for petrol LPG vans," Simon commented. When asked whether a significant saving could be made by the purchase of a duel fuel van, he replied; "Yes, if the business has to pay the congestion charge every day. That's GBP8 a day, so in total over a year a business can save over GBP2000 in congestion zone charges, which actually equates to the cost of leasing an LPG van, so it makes sense financially. If the business decides to buy the van without leasing, they'll recoup the cost in only four years, whilst being more environmentally friendly too."
