FARMINGDALE, NY, March 20, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maxi-Aids, the leading supplier of products for the blind, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, diabetic and those with other special needs, as well as seniors and a growing number of baby boomers, has picked the winner of the first $1,000 Maxi-Aids shopping spree awarded as part of their 2009 "Keep That Catalog" Contest.

"We're proud to announce that Carolyn A. of Lake Villa, IL was selected as the first winner of the Maxi-Aids 'Keep That Catalog' Contest," said Elliot Zaretsky, president and founder of Maxi-Aids. "On Friday, March 6, Mrs. A.'s name was chosen at random from the contest entries received, and in a phone call she was able to successfully answer a question about our recently released catalog."

Mrs. A., who used to reside in Amherst, NY, but who moved to Illinois last July, has been a Maxi-Aids customer since 2001. She was very surprised to hear about the contest, she said, especially in light of how poorly the economy is doing. But she was "tickled pink" to have won. "You made my day... I'm going around telling everyone I'm the winner of the Maxi-Aids contest," Mrs. A. said.

As for the shopping spree, although there are many things Mrs. A. wants to order, for now she's just enjoying the fact that she won. "I feel very fortunate... I'm tongue-tied," she commented.

When she's ready to shop, she'll have approximately 6,000 items to pick from. "With the variety of products we carry," joked Mr. Zaretsky, "the hardest part of winning this contest is deciding which items to choose."

There are still nine monthly $1,000 shopping sprees to be given away in the Maxi-Aids "Keep That Catalog" Contest. Anyone wishing to enter may do so by visiting www.MaxiAids.com and following the contest links. There is no purchase necessary to enter or win.
