The class will teach skills in the following areas: anger management, stress management, assertive communication skills, emotional intelligence or empathy, and motivation to change. The curriculum in this program is accepted by Nurses, School Counselors/Psychologists, Substance Abuse Counselors, Case Managers, HR Managers, Clinicians, Probation Officers, as well as staff from group homes, and agencies serving families and youth.
The Anderson & Anderson anger management program is a very stress-free and educational process. Each client begins by completing an eighteen item assessment that is designed to measure each person's current level of functioning in the areas mentioned above. The facilitator conducts a review of the results of each client and provides feedback. Classes include discussion of each client's issues (related to anger), a detailed skill enhancement lesson plan that incorporates the use of the adolescent client workbook "Controlling Ourselves", informational videos that are related to skill enhancement exercises, and a post-assessment that measures the clients' level of change at the end.
