-- Andrew P. Sullivan, Deakin University's Manager of Electron Microscopy, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in microscopy.
Dr. Sullivan has 12 years of professional experience, with 10 years as a manager of electron microscopy at Deakin University. Over the years, he has become proficient at scanning through electron microscopes, which utilize high-voltage electron beams to produce extremely high resolution and high magnification images. On a daily basis, he is largely responsible for overseeing daily business operations, including training functions, services functions and financial matters.
Looking back, Dr. Sullivan attributes his success to his ability to keep up with technology. He became involved in his profession because of his educational background. Upon graduating, he possessed a skill set that matched the electron microscopy field and has progressed in the field ever since.
Dr. Sullivan received a Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering from RMIT University in 2005. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society, as well as RMIT University Alumni. In years to come, Mr. Sullivan intends to offer the highest quality services in terms of teaching electron microscopy.
Deakin University has built a new facility that has been open for the past 18 months specifically for electron microscopy research.
