http://animalcharms.net) made its 25th donation of 2010 recently bringing the total donations to just over $1,000.
"While we are far behind our goal for the year due to the economy, we are thrilled to be able to give as much as we are," said co-founder Diane Gerencser.
"We had hoped to be able to make this announcement much earlier this year," added co-founder and husband Steve.
Animal Charms' average donation is just over $50 per charity. "Our goal has always been to help as many local rescues as possible," said Steve. "We have been trying to find a balance between making larger donations and helping more animals. And while we would like to see the average donation rise to $100 per charity, we are happy to have been able to send donations to as many places as we have."
Who we help
Animal Charms has chosen to focus on the smaller, locally run and operated, no-kill shelters and rescues across the United States. The goal is to keep the donations as close to the animals as possible. There are thousands of people working very hard to help as many animals as they can and every donation helps. A donation as small as $50 can buy 100 pounds of dog food or 8 bales of hay.
How we raise money

Animal Charms is set aside for donation to an animal charity or rescue. Additionally, Animal Charms runs special sales, offers special products, and programs for charities to help them raise even more money with little to no effort on their part. Our goal is to help as many animals in need as possible.
