/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Anita Yip, Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Wellesley College, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in fundraising management.
In 2009 Ms. Yip raised record-breaking amounts of over $15,000 in corporate and in-kind sponsorships for Asian Sisters Participating in Reaching Excellence (ASPIRE) and over $5,500 in silent auction donations for the City of Boston Office of New Bostonians We Are Boston Gala. A longtime annual giving representative for her alma mater Wellesley College, for her 5th year reunion she designed strategies to increase Durant-level giving ($500+) from an average of 4 alums to 11 alums. Previously, she served at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and Big Sister Association of Greater Boston through an AmeriCorps program called the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship, and worked for BNY ConvergEx Group, Boston Women's Fund, and as a freelance photographer for Zagat Survey.
In 2011, Ms. Yip co-founded the Jasmine Asian Women Giving Circle with six women in response to foundations giving less than 1% of philanthropic dollars to organizations and programs assisting Asian women, a desire to build a safe and supportive community among Asian women, and the need to collaborate to create lasting change. Her extensive community work includes helping to raise almost $150,000 in financial and in-kind donations for eight organizations since 2007. Most recently, Ms. Yip was awarded the Eli J. Segal AmeriCorps Alums Entrepreneurship Award, which recognizes the achievement and potential of an outstanding alum whose work, after completing his or her service in AmeriCorps, demonstrates entrepreneurial vision and leadership to make this a better world.
Ms. Yip holds holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College and a master's degree in Organizational Communication from Northeastern University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Friday Night Supper Program and the Advisory Board Fundraising Committee of the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship. She also volunteers as a Big Sister.
