LOS ANGELES, CA, March 25, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Annette Bozeman is a survivor of the Watts Riot of 1965 in Los Angeles, California. The riots took place in the Watts neighborhood from August 11th to the 16th of 1965. She found hope in the Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning Center. She is now a cosmetologist, mother and wife and volunteers at Motivating the Masses Teen Spirit in San Diego, California.

According to Annette, "Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning Center was a safe haven, and still is in operation. When the center came up in our community, our family was accepted and we had access to counseling [...] it was a place you could go and feel safe. It helped me develop self-esteem, see the world in different light, gave me hope in a situation where you didn't feel you had a chance."

In her book, "The Center" she shares her journey from uncertainty and fear to triumph and success. This is a powerful book that empowers the reader and gives hope just as Annette found in the darkest of times.

"There are so many great insights in this short read, [...] This is a book that you really need to get so you can be the change in your part of the world!" -Steve Kidd, host of ""Thriving Entrepreneur Radio Show. Hear the whole interview at WeHelpYouTHRIVE.com/radio

I wrote this book to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning Center. To share the journey of healing and success. I was born Annette Caraway the youngest of six siblings in 1959 to two alcoholic parents in Los Angeles CA. A victim of rape, incest, physical, emotional, verbal abuse, racism, and divorced twice, exposed to drugs and violence. Eight miscarriages. I have two children twenty years apart and three grandchildren. I've been married twenty nine years (2016) to a man who helped me continue to heal from the shame and fears I experienced as a child and young adult. I believe God has a plan for my life. I'm not done yet. I have that feeling in the pit of my soul that lets me know there's more to come. All I've been through was preparation.
