/24-7PressRelease/ -- Because the Chamber Music Society Detroit has expanded its influence in the local, national and international classical music communities, my message is addressed to all of you from far and wide who have worked with me to secure the Chamber Music Society as the flourishing organization it is today. With appreciation for your collaborative efforts, I want to share with you my decision to step down from my position as President of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit.
With the strong support of individuals, foundations and corporations and with a generous and committed Board of Directors, the Chamber Music Society has built a solid infrastructure and talented staff to support its dynamic and quality programming. Our organization can boast a secure financial position, despite the current economic challenges world-wide, featuring program expansion and a growing endowment which secures its programs for the future. The professional and experienced individual who will lead the organization next will come to it with all of these and other resources in place to continue and to build upon its current successes. I will continue in my position while a national executive search is underway and have offered my help during the transition period; I will leave my position in December or, perhaps, earlier if the next leader is identified sooner.
I have planned the 2011-2012 and part of the 2012-2013 concert seasons, but my successor will certainly make an imprint on 2012-2013 and future series. I look forward to seeing the infusion of a new perspective on concert presentations and on other programs as the Chamber Music Society of Detroit builds further upon its distinguished 67 year old history. To all of you—supporters, audience members, board members, Artistic Advisory Board members, staff members, artist managers, education program partners and other community collaborators, Trio Award winners, presenters and other national collaborators--who have contributed so much to the achievement of my goals for the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, thank you for the opportunities you have provided me and enhanced through your work, through your professional wisdom and, importantly, through your friendship.
