/24-7PressRelease/ - GLENDALE, CA, February 11, 2008 - Nutrition Breakthroughs of Glendale, CA. has announced their newest product - Calcium Lift. This news comes at a time when 10 million people in the U.S. today already have osteoporosis and 34 million more have low bone mass, placing them at increased risk. According to a National Institutes of Health (NIH) fact sheet, an inadequate supply of calcium over a lifetime contributes to the development of osteoporosis. And the body becomes less efficient at calcium absorption as we age.

The crucial factor in how well calcium can do its job in creating strong bones, is how well it's absorbed into the body. The main variables involved in calcium absorption are Vitamin D, magnesium, and most of all, some form of acid existing in the stomach along with the calcium. This is impaired by the fact that stomach acid and digestive capability tends to decline as we grow older.

In the Nutrition Almanac, John Kirschmann says: "Unless calcium is in a water-soluble form in the intestine, it will not be absorbed properly. In addition, if acid in some form is not present, calcium will not be dissolved and instead can build up in tissues or joints as calcium deposits, leading to a variety of disturbances."

For these reasons, Calcium Lift is taken as a liquid. It is formulated with calcium lactate gluconate, a form of calcium with a high solubility and absorbability, magnesium chloride, which dissolves instantly in water, and Vitamin C, which is also known as ascorbic acid. The ingredients in Calcium Lift come in powdered form and are poured into cool water, in which they instantly dissolve to clear.

Calcium lactate gluconate is a relatively new form of calcium, made from a combination of calcium lactate and calcium gluconate. It was tested in a recent study in the journal "Osteoporosis International". The study was titled "The effects of calcium supplementation and exercise on bone density in elderly Chinese women."

Researchers from China and Australia worked with 50 women aged 62-92. They concluded that: "Calcium lactate gluconate was adequately absorbed in Chinese women. It was effective in reducing bone loss at the hip, and in addition, bone mineral density at the top of the thigh bone increased significantly."

According to the magazine "Innovations in Food Technology", calcium lactate gluconate has a very high absorption, with 10 times greater calcium solubility than calcium gluconate alone, and 140 times greater solubility than calcium citrate.

Jobee Knight, a nutritional researcher and founder of Nutrition Breakthroughs in California, is someone who fought her own battle against osteoporosis, as well as receding gums and teeth. She decided to put her background to use by searching out effective natural ingredients for stronger bones. The result was Calcium Lift, a unique blend of calcium lactate gluconate, magnesium chloride and Vitamin C.

Cinzia Aversa of Glendale, CA. says: "I have more energy with Calcium Lift, no doubt. I am in a better mood overall. I seem to sleep better. I also have some little arthritis pains here and there and these seem better too. I have gone through heavier physical activity in the last couple of days which normally would give me a lot of muscle pain and back problems (which is my main problem) and this time it has been much easier, with little sore feeling."

With an eye out for osteoporosis prevention, the NIH writes, "The body's demand for calcium is greater with pregnant and breastfeeding women, menopausal and post-menopausal women, and older men".

Be sure to get enough calcium, balance it with 50% as much magnesium, and take Vitamin C. Eat a mineral rich diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables. Exercise daily, emphasizing walking, "rebounding" and other weight-bearing exercises. Spend some time in the sun. For stronger bones, reduce caffeine and cut down on sugar, white flour, alcohol and tobacco.
