Anthony Frank Ingrassia Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    LAKE RIDGE, VA, October 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Anthony Frank Ingrassia with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ingrassia celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A retired labor relations executive, Mr. Ingrassia spent the last eight years of his career serving as the vice chairman and acting chairman of the Federal Salary Council in Washington, DC until 2000, under presidential appointments from President George H.W. Bush and President William Jefferson Clinton. Mr. Ingrassia also worked in several other key roles, including labor relations director of the U.S. Postal Service and numerous capacities for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management between the years of 1979 to 1996. Most recently he served as deputy associate director of personnel systems and oversight as well as chairman of the Federal Prevailing Rate Advisory Committee. He played a significant role in the passage of Title VII of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978, which gave federal employees legal collective bargaining rights for the first time. Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Ingrassia was also influential as a consultant for civil service reform for Hungary and Poland, and as a consultant of civil service for Saudi Arabia.

Beginning in 1946, Mr. Ingrassia spent two years as a reporter and acting editor for the West Bend Wisconsin News, as well as14 years as a sports writer for the Milwaukee Sentinel and 10 years as the executive vice president of the Milwaukee Sentinel Newspaper Guild chapter. He was also the director of the Office of Labor-Management Relations for the U.S. Civil Service Commission, and associate director for District Council 48 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, affiliated with The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). Mr. Ingrassia was the president of the University of Wisconsin chapter of the Sigma Delta Chi professional journalism fraternity, and president of the Milwaukee professional chapter.

Mr. Ingrassia is a former delegate for the Public Employee Conference of the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and served as a speaker on Collective Bargaining at the University of Tel Aviv. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Ingrassia served as a volunteer for the Arlington for Assistance Center. He also volunteered for hospice for six years and was an Ombudsman in the Northern Virginia Long Term Care Program for four years.

Included in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1996, Who's Who in the South and Southwest every year since 2012, and Who's Who in the World in 2015 and 2016, Mr. Ingrassia was the recipient of a 1980 Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Government Executives by President Jimmy Carter, as well as a rank as a Meritorious Federal Executive in 1988 from President Ronald Reagan. Furthermore, he has earned Outstanding Contribution to Federal Labor Relations Awards in 1983 and 1987.

Born in Middletown, NY, Mr. Ingrassia completed his Bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin in 1948. He now resides in Lake Ridge. Married in 1952 to Eleanor Mae Birkholz, who has since passed away, Mr. Ingrassia has eight children, 26 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He loves to golf, sing, and work with flowers in his yard.
