/24-7PressRelease/ - FAIRFIELD, CT, January 10, 2007 - "She has a powerful voice, the ability to hold long notes without wavering, and a knack for making every song sound bluesy. Antoinette Montague's delivery is heartfelt, infectious and memorable."
-Scott Yanow, Los Angeles Jazz Scene

The recent release of Antoinette Montague's debut CD Pretty Blues has helped introduce the wonderful bluesy jazz singing of Antoinette Montague to the music world. Now listeners will have the pleasure of seeing her sing in public at a particularly prestigious event. Ms. Montague will be performing a mixture of standards and superior lesser-known songs with the
Bill Easley Quartet at the Martin Luther King Jr. Jazz Festival & Dinner on Saturday Jan. 13 at 6 pm, held at the Church Of The Assumption, 35 Orange Avenue, Clifton, NJ.

Born and raised in Newark, Antoinette Montague may have just released her first CD but she has had many invaluable musical experiences. She worked in gospel and r&b ensembles after college, serves as the vice president of the international Women in Jazz, and considers Carrie Smith, Etta Jones, Della Griffin and Myrna Lake to be her mentors. Antoinette has worked extensively in the New York area during the past decade with such musicians as Red Holloway, Benny
Powell, Bill Easley, Winard Harper, Wycliffe Gordon, Frank Wess, the Duke Ellington Orchestra and Mike Longo's New York
State of the Arts Orchestra.

Recording and releasing Pretty Blues on the Consolidated Artists label raised her profile and has given her fame beyond the East Coast. On this highly enjoyable CD, Antoinette Montague is featured belting out blues, interpreting sensitive ballads, combining together passion and sophistication, and making every song sound fresh, infectious and topical. The backup
group includes a prominent role for tenor-saxophonist and flutist Bill Easley, who will also be a major part of Antoinette's band on Jan. 13 and the two events to follow.

Antoinette Montague's performance on January 11, at 6 pm sharp, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Jazz Festival & Dinner. is the first in a series of three upcoming events. The Bill Easley group will feature Danny Mixon, and JJ Wiggins.

Next on a Feb. 11, 5 pm
A concert at Jazz Vespers, St. Peter's Church, 54th and
Lexington, New York. At 5pm sharp. This is the famed Jazz Church or "the Church of the Night Flock" so coined by Duke Ellington.

Third is the Presbyterian Jazz
Society's Second Sunday Jazz concert on
Mar. 11 at 6 pm at the
First Presbyterian Church
East Lincoln and North Columbus Avenue
Mount Vernon, New York.

These special events will give many listeners the opportunity to discover the musical magic of Antoinette Montague.
