/24-7PressRelease/ - NYACK, NY, June 16, 2006 - Raspberry Jam Music recording artist, 19-year old Anya, will take Nyack's Vertigo nightclub by storm on Sunday, June 25. At this "All-age" show, Anya will perform songs from her newly-released pop/rock CD titled Meltdown. Anya, backed by The Jimmy Packes Band, delivers hook & melody-driven songs with message-packed lyrics.

Meltdown (the title track) sings of a man erroneously accused & convicted, now incarcerated at Sing Sing. Road of Bones captures a moment in history to tell the story of Stalin's greed in his quest for gold that parallels today's Enron debacle that destroyed thousands. Typical boy/girl love songs bring the music to a happier note in tunes like No Date (to the dance) & Biker Girl (a dedication to all the bikers around the world). Nyack brother and sister, James and Sophie Newsome, add flavor to Teenager in Love as teen Sophie shares a boyfriend's rejection with her younger brother James in the song's intro (the live version of Teenager in Love is done up-tempo Ska).

Jimmy Packes arranged this album to fit his power rock trio sending Anya's music way up the scale. Jimmy has shared center stage with great talents the likes of Blackfoot, Pat Travers, Queensryche, Joe Satriani, Ozzy Osbourne, David Lee Roth, Guns 'n Roses and many others. His stellar guitar playing ignites Anya's vocals. Jaime Sandoval, Chilean born, is Berkeley Music School educated. His drumming artistry, perfect in this mix, is creative & rock steady. Icing on this trio is the pulsating bass support of Eugene Acosta. Born in the Philippines, Eugene makes this group a world-worthy talent.

Meltdown is an exotic blend of powerful American pop/rock and sensuous Euro dance beats and ballads. Austrian and Polish, Anya brings to her music many Eastern European flavors. Born in Glogow, Poland and raised in Connecticut, Anya completed her Sophomore year at UConn in May, 2006 with a perfect score. Although a business major, Anya's heart and career goals are music, music and more music! Her captivating vocal style has prompted one critic to compare her sound to that of an early Brenda Lee, the music legend known affectionately as "Little Miss Dynamite."

Anya will perform at an "All-age" show at Vertigo on Sunday, June 25 at 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.,
91 Main Street, Nyack, NY (845) 358-3202. Tickets are $10. For club information, please visit http://www.vertigonyack.com or ([email protected]).
