MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, April 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Called the "Pandora for iPhone apps", Apptizr has been making iPhone app recommendations since the free service launched four months ago. With the approval of its free iPhone app earlier this year, more and more iPhone and iPod Touch users are turning to Apptizr to discover great apps that match their interests. This week, Apptizr served up its ten millionth personalized iPhone app recommendation.

"We are very excited to reach the ten million app recommendations milestone," said David Li, CEO and Co-Founder of Apptizr. "We are continuing to enhance our service to make Apptizr the easiest way for iPhone users to discover the best apps out there. We also wanted to share some insights we have learned from serving up over 10 million recommendations. We believe app developers will find this information useful in deciding how to best invest their time."

With the data gathered from its users and the App Store, some interesting insights emerged. Although Games and Entertainment are two of the most crowded and competitive categories, they are extremely popular with users, so still offer good opportunities. Similarly, Productivity and Utilities are high on the user demand list. In contrast, Books and Education, though saturated with competition, do not result in as many downloads or purchases. The full report can be viewed and downloaded from http://www.apptizr.com/reports/AppStore_App_Preferences_Q12010.pdf.

About Apptizr:
Apptizr was founded in 2009 with the mission of making it easy for iPhone and iPod Touch users to find great mobile applications based on their interests. With well over 180K apps in the iPhone App Store, it is nearly impossible for users to find great apps not featured by Apple. Apptizr solves this problem by using a proprietary algorithm to match each user's individual tastes to the right apps. In addition to the user's interests, Apptizr also accounts for app quality, recommending only the most highly-rated apps in each genre. The service is now in public Beta and is available for free at www.apptizr.com. The Apptizr app can be downloaded for free from the iPhone App Store.

Apptizr was developed by mobile and web industry veterans from Danger, PayPal, eBay, and Oodle. Apptizr is not affiliated with Apple Inc. or any mobile carrier. Apptizr is a product of Third Ave Labs. More information about Apptizr can be found at http://www.apptizr.com.
