APW Members Declare Sanders "The Parallel Politician"

Bernie Sanders Ahead in Early Poll of Sustainability Voters

SANTA FE, NM, January 29, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Last week, AParallelWorld.com, a website dedicated to helping Americans transition to a sustainable lifestyle, surveyed its 1,000 members about which presidential candidate they considered to be the most "parallel." A solid 90% of the respondents picked Bernie Sanders. APW members were asked to compare each candidate's position regarding energy, transportation, food security, consumer rights, independent media and institutional finance.

In reporting back the results of the survey to its members, the APW update claimed that its staff was not surprised at the Sanders landslide. What did surprise them, they admitted, was little known Green Party candidate, Jill Stein coming in second, ahead of third-place winner Hillary Clinton.

The survey asked APW members to rate ten presidential candidates on six questions reflecting the sustainability concerns of the website. The questions included:

* Which candidate best supports renewable technology and resources?

* Which candidate best supports alternative fuels?

* Which candidate best supports healthy, sustainably grown non-GMO food in our schools and on our tables?

* Which candidate best supports independent media, net neutrality and free speech?

* Which candidate best supports local banking and lending as an alternative to big banks?

* Which candidate supports holding Wall Street and big banks accountable to the public?

The detailed results were provided at the end of the report. Of the Republican field, only Donald Trump garnered over one percent. Said Gershon Siegel, APW News Editor, "Our membership is largely composed of people concerned about sustainability in a time of climate change. In all honesty, we didn't think a field of Republicans, which to a person denies climate change, was going to fare very well among our demographic."

Nor was APW founder, Alan Hoffman, shocked over the survey results when explaining the motive behind taking the survey. "As more people hear about sustainable transition, we wondered which candidate would work to protect our right to choose sustainable products and services. We weren't all that surprised," admitted Hoffman.

As an incentive for members to participate in the survey, a $100 prize was offered in a random drawing of entries. A second $100 prize is to be awarded as the survey continues through the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire Primary. Participate in the survey HERE.
