AquaClub at Franklin Athletic Club

    SOUTHFIELD, MI, July 16, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- AquaClub is happy to announce our new, all-level swim program in the Detroit metropolitan area. Our comprehensive swim program includes a competitive swim team, water polo, diving, water aerobics, community open swim, and Swim-School. Our popular Swim-School consists of group, semi-private and private swim lessons for all levels of swimming abilities. AquaClub has many swim opportunities within our aquatic centers which are currently operating in two locations in Michigan: Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield and Oxford High School in Oxford Township.

AquaClub was founded and is directed by two-time Olympian, Nimrod Shapira. At the age of five, Nimrod Shapira had a near-drowning experience when he fell into a swimming pool at a family event. After overcoming his tragedy and being afraid of the water for several years, Nim found his passion for sports at the pool and went on to become a very successful competitive swimmer. Today, Nim shares his passion for the sport of swimming and is motivated to educate children and adults about swimming safety. "Everyday kids drown and die in the U.S. I want to give back to the sport of swimming and teach people how to be safe in and around the water. Teaching kids to be safe and comfortable in the water is our first priority. Helping kids to be the best they can be and seeing them grow as swimmers is the most rewarding job I can ask for," says Nim.

Vision Statement - The AquaClub team of instructors is committed to creating a program that will provide southern Michigan with a top-notch swimming program that is committed to both individual and team success. We will help all swimmers reach their personal goals from learning to swim to competing at the Olympic level.

Since our inception in early 2014, AquaClub already has hundreds of happy swimmers and we look forward to helping many more reach their swimming goals. Our staff welcomes EVERYONE to take part in this great program!
