Many people get fooled into thinking they can lose weight from a patch or a pill at no cost to them. In almost every case there is a minimal of shipping and handling charge. The charge is usually inflated to cover the cost of the actual "free sample" they deliver to you.
The worst case I have seen in the free weight loss industry is tricking the customer into signing up for a "free diet pill" and what they actually sign up for is an autoship program that delivers a supply of pills every month to the customer. This can cost the customer hundreds of dollars before they actually know what they have done.
Now I must tell you I have been guilty of this myself. Many years ago I tried a free diet pill, and not only was it not free, but they charged my credit card $80 for a 3 month supply of their product. When I tried to cancel this autoship program, it was next to impossible to contact anyone. The original company I purchased the free sample from was not in charge of the autopay system and it took me several days and several emails to finally cancel this program and get my money back.
The website hypes up the product so much and tells you how free it is, that when you get to the "fine print" you just barely glance over it. This is where they get you. Everything you really need to know about the free sample is all but hidden on the page. Usually there is no indication to the customer that these extra charges will occur.
So if you are looking around for a free weight loss or diet pill sample, be sure to read the fine print or call the company before you give out your information. Don't jump right in thinking they are looking out for your best interest. There are some good companies out there, but investigate your product before taking the free sample.
