Artist Grant Williams Featured in Jupiter Magazine for Helping to Make his Community a Haven for Art Lovers

Currently, Grant's aquatic and coastal works are on display at Art on Park in Lake Park and Village Art Studios in Tequesta

JUPITER, FL, January 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Grant Williams has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in his artistic career.

A native of Ashtabula, Ohio, near Cleveland, Grant Williams initially came to the Sunshine State looking for work as an illustrator. With a graduate degree in commercial art from Cleveland Institute of Art in hand, friends encouraged him to go back to school. This he did. Then, after obtaining a Bachelor of Art in Education from Kent State University, Grant returned to Florida and taught art to elementary school children at eight different schools, as an Itinerant Art Teacher in Palm Beach County. During the second year, he met his future wife, a recent graduate in art education from FSU. They moved to Boca Raton and Grant taught art at the junior/senior high school while completing his master's degree at FAU. Grant then taught at Gardens High School in Palm Beach Gardens, where he eventually became the head of the art department.

After ten years at Gardens, Grant found a beautiful piece of property in the small town of Jupiter on Sims Creek. Grant and his wife designed and built their family home, and Grant transferred to Jupiter High School, where he taught for twenty years. While at JHS, he started teaching as an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University and remained there part-time for twenty years. He remembers teaching with great fondness. Grant and his wife continued doing artwork and entering art shows the entire time they were teaching.

These days, Grant and his wife, who is now also an author with a degree in library science, reside in their lovely cedar home in Jupiter where he enjoys completing covers and illustrations for her books ("Tale of Turtle River" and "Eyes of the Owl"), and artwork in various mediums.

Grant has spent the last forty years enjoying working on his art and boating and fishing off the waters of Sims Creek in Jupiter, Florida. As one who draws inspiration from the world around him, Jupiter, (one of the Happiest Seaside Towns in America according to Coastal Living), is the perfect fit for him. Currently, Grant's aquatic and coastal works are on display at Art on Park in Lake Park and Village Art Studios in Tequesta.
