SEMINYAK, INDONESIA, July 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Balam Dance Theatre, a renowned group of performers from New York, are bringing their unique talents to Bali for a series of shows and group rehearsals throughout August.

Having arrived on the paradise island on July 26th 2010, the performing artists will remain in Bali throughout the whole of August, before returning home to the US at the start of September.

During their time in Bali, they will stage a number of contemporary dances which fuse elements of ballet and modern dance, while also showing signs of being inspired by traditional Indonesian moves.

A number of different productions will be performed, including Sleeping Buddha, a piece inspired by the life of Buddha himself.

"Using a hypnotic Shaolin breathing technique as its rhythmic base, the dance presents four archetypal art-depictions of Buddha's life," Tourism Indonesia explains.

Ramayana-Abduction of Sita and Tigerlily and the Dragonfly - two of Balam Dance Theatre's signature works - will also return for the Bali dates.

Guests staying at Seminyak hotels who are keen to view one of the shows should note that the full itinerary has yet to be confirmed, but so far they have agreed to play four shows.

The last of these current dates is in Batuan Duri on August 18th.

For more information on this event, visit the Balam Dance Theatre website or contact the organisers on (+1) 46 361 9183.
