Siam Square hotels at the start of August should head down to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) to join in the festivities on the first day of a local gallery's 20th anniversary celebrations.
AKKO Art Gallery, which first opened its doors to the public back in 1990, has become well known across Thailand for its commitment to displaying an eclectic mix of beautiful pieces.
Contemporary abstract images mingle with more traditional works at its site on Sukhumvit Road, with Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese artists all contributing.

The first day of the anniversary celebrations is scheduled for August 3rd 2010 and will look back over the time the gallery has been open, as well as what it has planned for the future.
Some 20 artists will have their works used in the event, including leading Thai painters such as Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, Panya Vijinthanasarn, Therdkiat Wangwatcharakul and Vichoke Mukdamanee.
Vietnamese and Japanese artists will also feature in the show, which will run until August 15th and is entitled 20/20.
