CHESHIRE, ENGLAND, May 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robotics & Automation specialists, Astech Projects, are excited to be backing their very own Luke as the MasterChef Finals week begins. Sixty amateur cooks throughout the country have been whittled down to the most promising four, all with one goal: to lift the coveted MasterChef 2014 Champion trophy.
Luke credited his culinary talent to his family, he commented "I've been cooking for about seven years, my mum is a very good cook. My dad is good at BBQ'ing, cooked breakfasts, steak and pancakes and my sister makes great cakes! So I kind of stumbled into my passion for food, I'm pretty sure I was trying to impress a girl!"
"It was a spur of the moment decision to apply for MasterChef. I was staying at Marco Pierre White's Pear Tree lodge having dinner... several red wines later I had submitted my application form! I don't really recall what the thought process was, as this was very out of character. Friends and family had previously suggested I should apply, but I really didn't like the idea of being on television - I actually hate having people watch me cook!"
Over the next three nights, Luke and his fellow finalists face some incredible challenges, putting their skill, ambition and tenacity to the test as they do all they can to impress some of the world's greatest chefs and raise their food to a level they never dreamed possible.
Tonight's episode, Wednesday 14 May, will see four become three with the best two cooks of the night immediately through to the final tasks. In a twist, the weakest two will have to cook again. This time they will be against each other, head to head, for their place in the competition. Having come so far together, these two finalists have to put their friendship aside and focus on their goal: to cook to win.
