The Global Green Award is an annual award that acknowledges exemplary leadership in promoting environmental sustainability and economic development around the globe. Astonfield was nominated for the award by the U.S. Department of Commerce in recognition for its leadership and success in promoting the scale up of renewable energy solutions in emerging markets such as India.

The award was presented at this year's World Trade Week event in New York City on May 17 by Christine C. Quinn, Speaker, New York City Council. The steering committee responsible for determining award winners includes representatives of the US Department of Commerce, The World Trade Centers Association, The United States Council for International Business and The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
