PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA, May 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- MoneyTree recently firmed up its collaboration with ASTRO on the 'Money Wise' financial literacy camp for kids that would be conducted during the June 2009 school holidays. Through the collaboration, ASTRO agrees to promote the 'Money Wise' program via ASTRO's website and bill insertions.

The 'Money Wise' financial literacy camp, which would run from 1st June 2009 onwards, is designed specially for kids and teens between ages 9 and 18 to learn about Financial Literacy in a Fun and Interactive manner. Participants learn through various interactive scenarios, in which they are given credit cards, cash, investment certifications and put through a 'mini economy' in which earning, spending, saving and investing are part of the syllabus in the program.

The 'Money Wise' camp is divided into 2 levels; the 'Money Wise' Junior camp for kids between ages 9 and 13, and the 'Money Wise' Apprentice camp for teens between ages 14 and 18. Through the 'Money Wise' camps, kids would be exposed to the basics of Money, Understanding the Value of Money, Developing the Right Money Habits, Understanding the need to start planning their financial future now and Developing the basis for Decision Making.

MoneyTree Asia Pacific Ltd CEO, Mr. Michael Reyes stated,"The financial problems faced by adults today is due mainly to the fact that they were never exposed to financial literacy during their younger days. Financial topics such as saving, spending, budgeting and investing were very rarely taught to kids in an effective way in the past. It is our firm belief in MoneyTree that in order for us to solve this very real financial problem that our society is facing, we have to start by educating the younger generation on financial literacy. As such, we are very grateful to ASTRO for lending a helping hand to further our cause in helping as many kids as possible achieve financial freedom in the future".

The 'Money Wise' camp is offered exclusively to ASTRO subscribers. The camps will be conducted in 5 venues across Malaysia; Klang Valley, Melaka, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak. For more information regarding the venue and schedule of the 'Money Wise' camps, please call Ms. Evelyn at +603 7954 4514, email her at evelyn@moneytree.my, or log on to http://www.astro.com.my/astrolife/promos/schoolholiday2009/default.asp.
