/24-7PressRelease/ -- Sanjaya Kumar, MD, MPH and Gerard Livaudais, MD, MPH, the CEO and Executive Vice President of Product Management, respectively, of Quantros, will be featured speakers this week at a healthcare IT panel at TiEcon 2010, the world's largest conference for entrepreneurs.
Kumar and Livaudais will participate on the panel, "Wanted: Health IT Enablers, Innovators and Adopters," as part of TiEcon's new BioSciences track. According to organizers, the session explores the federal government's ARRA/HITECH stimulus funding and its impact on funding healthcare initiatives aimed at improving delivery of healthcare and enhancing quality of patient care. The session also includes Bob Lin, Chairman of Healthlink, and Mathu Krishna, Founder and CEO of masIT, Inc.
"Healthcare IT will be in center focus for at least the next five years, driven by the stimulus funding," Dr. Kumar explained. "There's a lot of acceleration in terms of technologies that need to be adopted, which of course creates opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. This panel is very timely, and it will provide information that the audience we feel will be key to driving some of these agendas."
A co-founder of Quantros, Kumar now serves as CEO and Chief Medical Officer. A regular speaker and writer on issues related to patient safety and quality of care, Kumar is the author of the book, Fatal Care: Survive in the U.S. Health System (IGI Press, 2008).
Dr. Livaudais, a healthcare executive with extensive experience in healthcare IT and clinical services management, is the Executive Vice President for Product Management and Services. Before joining Quantros earlier this year, Livaudais was in charge of population and preventive care and served as an internist at Kaiser-Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, Inc.
