/24-7PressRelease/ -- Medical Research Consultants (MRC), a nurse-owned medical records collection and analysis company, recently introduced Risk Assessment Data Validation (RADV) Audit Services geared to Medicare providers. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) will soon commence audits of selected Medicare Advantage plans. Over the next few years, it is expected that most Medicare Advantage plans will undergo at least one Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) audit to identify overpayments to providers. Providers will be expected to produce members' charts and other records on very short notice and to comply with coding audits. If errors in coding are detected that resulted in overpayment to providers, plans will be financially responsible and CMS will recover monies.
Medicare providers may wish to take pre-RADV audit measures to ensure the integrity of their member data. MRC is prepared to coordinate pre-emptive retrieval, review, and coding audit of members' charts so that providers can correct potential problems prior to the arrival of the Recovery Audit Contractors.
