Attorney John J. Ferguson Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary Practicing Law

    GREENWICH, CT, May 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney John J. Ferguson is the senior partner and managing member of Ferguson Cohen. Recognized as an authority in the New York Law Journal article, "Who's Who in Trusts & Estates," Mr. Ferguson has focused his legal practice on the areas of trusts and estates. His areas of specialty include taxation, real estate, trusts and estate litigation.

Mr. Ferguson received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Holy Cross University in Worcester, Mass. in 1961, and a JD from Fordham University School of Law in New York City in 1965. Mr. Ferguson was admitted to the New York Bar Association in 1966, the U.S. Federal Courts Bar Association in 1970, the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Association in 1970 and the Connecticut Bar Association in 1979. He is also a member of the Greenwich and Westchester County (Member, Trusts and Estates Law section) Bar Associations.

Mr. Ferguson remains active in his community, and is a sought after lecturer, speaking at various seminars for Fortune 100 corporations and local law schools on wills and estate planning. He is a member of the board of directors for St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y., a member of the Knights of Malta, a member of the President's Council of the College of Holy Cross, and he is also a former associate trustee of the college. He also serves as counsel and board member to many private foundations. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Gregorian University's USA Chapter and the Guadalupe Center of Immokalee in Immokalee, Florida. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Patriot National Bank and serves as a trustee of the Southampton Animal Shelter.

Previously, Mr. Ferguson was a member of the board of Inner City Foundation of Education (Diocese of Bridgeport), St. Vincent's Hospital in Rye, N.Y., and the College of New Rochelle.
