/24-7PressRelease/ -- Edgerton Immigration Law, a Raleigh immigration law firm, announced today that Laura Edgerton has been named as a Super Lawyer for the area of immigration law in the 2011 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine. She was also included in the 2010 Super Lawyers list.
Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are recognized by Super Lawyers. The selections for the list are made by the research group at Super Lawyers, a service of Thomson Reuters. Each year, Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check.
Ms. Edgerton was also selected for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the field of immigration law (Copyright 2010 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.). She is a former Chair of the Carolinas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), a former member of the Board of Governors of AILA, and the former National Chair of AILA's Young Lawyers Division.
As the founder of Edgerton Immigration Law, Ms. Edgerton's primary field of concentration is corporate immigration law where she advises clients on the procedures for applying for temporary and permanent work authorization for foreign employees, including issues related to H-1B visas, labor certifications, investor visas, and intracompany transfers.
